John Roe Toyota is inviting nominations to its newly-launched John Roe Community Fund – an initiative that enables the local car dealership to support charities, schools and community projects in the areas that their showrooms are based. The aim of the fund is to help improve the lives of people living in and around Grimsby, Hull and Scunthorpe and to reward the local unsung heroes who already benefit the local region through voluntary work and fundraising.
Since the business was first established by founder John Roe; he, his son Paul and now grandson Tom, have placed a high level of importance on supporting local charities and community projects, but the John Roe Community Fund is the first opportunity for local residents to help the management team across all three showroom sites decide on who most deserves support.
A dedicated webpage has been set-up to accept nominations and terms and conditions can be found at www.johnroecars.co.uk/communityfund
To kickstart the fund’s local support, The John Roe Community Fund has pledged £2,000 to the Humberston Hydrotherapy Pool based at Humberston Park Special School. The funds are to contribute towards the cost of maintaining the facility that provides valuable support to the local area.
Speaking about the launch of the fund, John Roe Toyota Managing Director, Tom Roe, said: “As residents of North Lincolnshire, North East Lincolnshire and Hull, we, and our children, are fortunate enough to live close to a wide selection of areas of outstanding natural beauty, and places of cultural importance. We have good local parks and plenty of outdoor areas to enjoy fresh air and healthy, active lifestyles. But according to some reports, our local regions are also home to some of the country’s most deprived areas and communities.
“We know that there are lots of people and organisations locally who do an amazing job in helping to ensure that people from our region enjoy a good standard of living and provide access to opportunities on a national and international stage. We hope the fund will help these people and organisations as well as supporting local health, education and environmental initiatives.”
If you know a person who has tirelessly volunteered or raised funds for charity and deserves a helping hand, visit www.johnroecars.co.uk/communityfund to learn more about the fund and submit your nomination. At least one nomination will be selected each month for fulfilment.
